09/09/09 09:09:09 :O

The day for nines....

9-09-09 :

09-09-09 is the last of the single-digits dates for quite a while - 92 years to be precise.

Today itself falls on a Wednesday and both Wednesday & September have 9 letters.

Any grade-schooler could tell you, for example, that the sum of the two-digits resulting from nine multiplied by any other single-digit number will equal nine.
So 9x3=27, and 2+7=9.

Multiply nine by any two, three or four-digit number and the sums of those will also break down to nine. For example: 9x62 = 558; 5+5+8=18; 1+8=9.

Sept. 9 also happens to be the 252nd day of the year (2 + 5 +2)... "Loving 9."

This is the last of the single digits for quite a while. 1001 years to be precise.

Here is E-How's advice on how to spend 09-09-09:

Step 1
Keep a journal of goals you would like to reach. This date would be an ideal one to make a reached goal an easy day to remember.

Step 2
Write nine things to be thankful for in the goal journal. Make this goal number one.
Down to eight already. :D

Step 3
Smile at nine people every day. If that seems excessive or against your sensibilities, then shoot for every week or every nine days. Or if you're really against smiling just to smile, try smiling at yourself in the mirror for nine minutes. (LOL, smilling is good....)
Down to seven.

Step 4
Lose nine pounds. Start now and you only have to lose less than a pound a month to reach your goal by 09/09/09.
Down to six.

Step 5
Visit your local pound and pet, cuddle and/or walk nine dogs or cats. Smiles from the goal above could happen here. Sometimes the critters smile back.
Down to five.

Step 6
Walk nine miles every month. Use a map to see how far you would go between now and 09/09/09 if you were walking a straight line.
Down to four.

Step 7
Make, bake or cook nine homemade meals every month. That breaks down to a little over two a week. For busy people, that's not too much work with a little planning. A new goal to eat better and spend time round the table. (But for us, this is simple! We cook almost every meal homemade anyway!) :D
Down to three.

Step 8
Memorize the Twelve Days of Christmas and when you get to Nine Ladies Dancing, break out into a dance.
Down to two.

Step 9
In the spirit of the article and the technical template the writer is forced to use, two steps will be written here on step NINE.
Create cards to send out to nine people wishing them a Happy 09/09/09.

  3. Oh Sarah,

I like "Sarah's Photography Blog" much better than "Random Thoughts..."!

Maybe you should accept a compromise..."Sarah's Random Thoughts..." or something like that! LOL
